KCON USA 2018 confirmed today dates for 2018: June 23 and 24 in New York and August 10-12 in Los Angeles. The biggest change they’re making this year is a larger Korean beauty section at the conventions. Stay tuned for artist lineup and ticketing information, which will be available in the coming months.
What to Expect at KCON 2018
Attend this year’s festivities to watch A-list concerts and explore Korean music, food, fashion, television, film and beauty through workshops and panels. KCON USA is the largest North American convention dedicated to “All Things Hallyu.” This year’s seventh annual convention and concerts will take place in the New York metro area on June 23 and 24 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and in Los Angeles on August 10-12 at Staples Center & LA Convention Center.
Yesterday at SXSW 2018, Angela Killoren, COO of CJ E&M America, announced during a penl discussion that KCON will continue to lead in spreading Korean pop culture to new and existing fans, with its star-studded concerts and convention expanding this year to include more of K-beauty and eSports, according to a statement from CJ E&M. The other speakers of the SXSW panel titled “How K-pop Grew Beyond Niche” were Justin Anthony of Instagram, Jeff Benjamin of Fuse and Greg Fish of YG Entertainment USA.
KCON is the world’s largest Korean pop culture convention and music festival. Since it launched in 2012, KCON has never stopped expanding. Last year, they welcomed over 128,000 fans in the United States, hosted in Mexico, Australia and Japan. They have also hosted events in France and United Arab Emirates.
